Our Home at 1001 Hoyt Road

When we first started thinking about building our home, we knew we wanted something that felt peaceful, timeless, and perfectly suited to the Texas countryside. We didn’t want a cookie-cutter house—we wanted something that reflected our family and the land around it. That’s exactly what we found when we partnered with Benji and the team at Benjamin Custom Homes.

From the very beginning, Benji took the time to understand what mattered most to us. We wanted a home that felt warm and welcoming the moment you walked up to it, and the exterior captures that beautifully. The blend of natural stone, crisp white siding, and timber accents creates a classic Texas farmhouse look that feels both elegant and comfortable.

Inside, the home is designed in a way that truly fits how we live. The open living areas bring everyone together, whether we’re hosting friends, spending time as a family, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home. The natural light that fills the living room and kitchen makes the entire space feel bright and inviting.

The kitchen quickly became the heart of the house. It’s where people naturally gather, whether it’s morning coffee, preparing meals together, or catching up after a long day. Benji and his team helped make sure every detail—from the layout to the cabinetry—felt both functional and beautiful.

One of our favorite parts of the home is the owner’s suite, which feels like a private retreat at the end of the day. The spacious layout and thoughtfully designed bathroom create a calm, relaxing space that we truly look forward to coming home to.

But what really makes this home special is how it fits the land around it. Sitting on open acreage in Waxahachie, the home feels connected to the surrounding landscape, with wide views and plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors.

Building a home is a big journey, but working with Benjamin Custom Homes made it an incredibly rewarding experience. Benji was hands-on, attentive, and genuinely cared about building something we would love for years to come.

Looking back now, we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Benji didn’t just build us a house—he helped create the place our family now calls home.
